Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how ZamaSU collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares your information when using our platform and services.
1. Who We Are
ZamaSU (Pty) Ltd (“ZamaSU”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates a local community-based platform connecting customers with service providers for local jobs, errands, and services.
We operate in accordance with South African laws including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following information:
- Full names
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Physical addresses
- GPS/location information
- South African ID or passport information
- Banking and payout details
- Profile photos and selfies
- Proof of address documents
- Device and IP address information
- Chat messages between users
- Photos/videos uploaded for jobs or disputes
- Transaction and payment history
3. Why We Collect Information
We collect information to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Verify users and providers
- Prevent fraud and scams
- Facilitate escrow payments
- Resolve disputes
- Improve platform safety
- Process withdrawals and refunds
- Provide customer support
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Escrow & Wallet System
When customers fund a job, money is held securely in ZamaSU-controlled escrow accounts and reflected inside platform wallets until the job is completed or otherwise resolved.
Funds are not considered bank deposits and do not earn interest.
Once a customer confirms job completion, funds are released to the provider’s ZamaSU wallet balance.
5. Withdrawals
Providers may request withdrawals using approved payout methods including:
- Bank Transfer
- eWallet
- ABSA CashSend
- 1Voucher
- PayShap
Withdrawal processing times:
- Standard withdrawal: Up to 3 business days (R10 fee)
- Instant withdrawal: Typically within 24 hours (R55 fee)
6. Refunds
Refunds may be issued in the following situations:
- Provider failed to start the job
- Job cancellation before work begins
- Dispute ruling in favor of the customer
- Fraudulent or unauthorized transactions
Partial refunds may be issued where partial work was completed.
Platform/service fees may be non-refundable.
7. Community Moderation & Disputes
ZamaSU may use community-appointed moderators or administrators to assist with dispute resolution and trust & safety operations.
These moderators may review:
- Job details
- Uploaded photos/videos
- Chat conversations
- Evidence submitted by users
8. Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
- Payment providers
- Banks and payout partners
- Identity verification services
- Law enforcement when legally required
- Dispute resolution administrators
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information.
However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security.
10. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Keep login credentials secure
- Use the platform lawfully
- Not impersonate others
- Not upload false or misleading information
11. Prohibited Activities
The platform may not be used for:
- Illegal services or products
- Weapons or dangerous goods
- Drug-related activity
- Adult services
- Fraudulent transactions
- Unsafe or unlicensed work where qualifications are legally required

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in:
- Fraud
- Scams
- Chargeback abuse
