1. About ZamaSU

ZamaSU (Pty) Ltd, registered name K2026398003 (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (CIPC registration number 2026/398003/07; SARS tax reference 9168614296), trading as ZamaSU ("we", "us", "our"), is a South African company that operates a community-based digital marketplace connecting customers ("Requestors") with local service providers ("Providers") for household jobs, errands, and services. ZamaSU also operates the ZamaSU Merchant Network, through which approved retailers ("Merchants") accept ZamaSU Vouchers as payment.

ZamaSU acts solely as a technology intermediary. We do not directly provide any physical services listed on the platform.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to use ZamaSU
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • You must not have been previously suspended or banned from ZamaSU
  • You must comply with all applicable South African laws and regulations
  • Companies registering as Merchants must be lawfully registered entities

3. Account Verification

ZamaSU may require any or all of the following to verify your identity:

  • Government-issued ID or passport
  • Selfie or biometric verification
  • Bank account confirmation
  • Proof of address (not older than 3 months)
  • Business registration documents (for Merchants and Companies)
  • Tax reference numbers where applicable

Failure to provide required verification documents may result in limited or suspended access to platform features, including withdrawals and voucher issuance.

4. Escrow & Payment System

When a Requestor funds a job, payment is held securely in escrow by ZamaSU until the job is completed to the Requestor's satisfaction or until a dispute is resolved.

Upon the Requestor confirming successful completion of the job, the agreed amount (less applicable platform fees) is credited to the Provider's ZamaSU wallet.

ZamaSU is not a bank or financial institution. Wallet balances do not constitute bank deposits, do not earn interest, and are not protected by the South African Deposit Insurance Scheme.

5. Platform Fees

ZamaSU charges fees for the use of its services. Current fees include:

  • Service facilitation fee: Applied to jobs as a percentage or fixed amount of the agreed job value
  • Standard Withdrawal Fee: R10 per withdrawal (up to 3 business days)
  • Instant Withdrawal Fee: R55 per withdrawal (typically within 24 hours)
  • Voucher platform fee: Applied to Merchant voucher redemptions (see Merchant Terms)

All fees are displayed clearly before you complete a transaction. ZamaSU reserves the right to update fees with 30 days' prior written notice to affected users. Fee changes for Merchants are governed by the Merchant Terms.

6. Withdrawals

Providers may withdraw available wallet funds using approved payout methods, including:

  • Bank Transfer (EFT)
  • eWallet
  • ABSA CashSend
  • PayShap
  • 1Voucher

Standard withdrawals are processed within 3 business days. Instant withdrawals are typically processed within 24 hours but are not guaranteed. ZamaSU reserves the right to delay withdrawals pending identity verification or fraud investigation.

7. Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:

  • The Provider fails to begin or complete the agreed job
  • A dispute is resolved in the Requestor's favour
  • Fraudulent or unauthorised transactions are confirmed
  • The service materially differs from the agreed job description

Partial refunds may apply where partial work was completed to a verifiable standard. Platform fees and withdrawal fees are generally non-refundable.

8. Dispute Resolution Process

ZamaSU is committed to fair and timely dispute resolution. All parties are expected to act in good faith throughout this process.

8.1 When to Raise a Dispute

Either the Requestor or Provider may raise a dispute within 14 calendar days of the job completion date or the incident giving rise to the dispute. Disputes raised after this period may not be considered.

8.2 Dispute Process Steps

1
Raise a Dispute

The affected party raises a dispute through the ZamaSU platform or by emailing disputes@zamasu.co.za. The dispute must describe the issue clearly and reference the job ID or transaction.

2
Notification

ZamaSU notifies the other party within 2 business days. Any escrowed funds are placed on hold pending resolution.

3
Evidence Submission

Both parties submit evidence within 5 business days of notification. Acceptable evidence includes photos, videos, chat messages, receipts, and written statements. Late submissions may not be considered.

4
ZamaSU Review

ZamaSU reviews all submitted evidence within 5 business days of the evidence submission deadline. The review may be conducted by trained ZamaSU staff or appointed community administrators.

5
Ruling Issued

ZamaSU issues a ruling in writing to both parties. The ruling may result in: full payment release to the Provider, a full or partial refund to the Requestor, fee adjustments, or account action. The ruling is binding on both parties.

6
Appeal (Optional)

Either party may appeal within 3 business days of the ruling by submitting new evidence not previously available. Appeals without new evidence will not be reconsidered. ZamaSU's decision on appeal is final and conclusive.

8.3 ZamaSU's Authority in Disputes

Users agree that ZamaSU may make binding decisions regarding:

  • Release or withholding of escrowed funds
  • Full or partial refunds
  • Account suspensions or terminations
  • Evaluation of evidence provided
  • Assessment of whether services were rendered to the agreed standard

ZamaSU is not a court of law and its dispute decisions do not limit any party's right to seek legal remedies through South African courts.

9. Ratings & Reputation

Requestors and Providers may rate and review one another following job completion. Ratings must be honest, factual, and in good faith. ZamaSU reserves the right to remove or investigate reviews that appear misleading, abusive, retaliatory, or fraudulent.

10. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not use ZamaSU to:

  • Engage in or facilitate illegal activity of any kind

  • Manipulate ratings, disputes, or platform mechanics
  • Create multiple accounts to evade suspension
  • Use automated tools or bots on the platform

11. Community Moderation

ZamaSU may appoint community moderators to assist with dispute resolution, content moderation, and platform safety. Moderators act under ZamaSU's direction and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

12. Limitation of Liability

ZamaSU acts as a technology platform intermediary only. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, ZamaSU (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Actions or omissions of Requestors, Providers, or Merchants
  • Indirect, consequential, or special damages of any nature
  • Loss of data or service interruptions

Our total aggregate liability to any user for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by that user to ZamaSU in the 30 days preceding the claim.

13. Indemnity

Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ZamaSU (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal costs) arising from:

  • Any illegal activity conducted through your account
  • Disputes arising from services you provided or received
  • Infringement of third-party rights

14. Account Suspension & Termination

ZamaSU reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts involved in:

  • Fraud or attempted fraud
  • Scams or deceptive practices
  • Abuse, threats, or harassment
  • Repeated unresolved disputes
  • Chargeback abuse
  • Unsafe or illegal conduct
  • Violation of these Terms

Account suspension or termination does not release a user from any outstanding obligations, including payment of fees, settlement of disputes, or civil liability.

15. Intellectual Property

All platform content, branding, logos, designs, software, and systems remain the exclusive property of ZamaSU (Pty) Ltd. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose. No rights are transferred by use of the platform.

16. Merchant & Retailer Terms

Businesses and retailers participating in the ZamaSU Merchant Network are additionally subject to the ZamaSU Merchant Terms & Conditions, which govern voucher acceptance, fee structures, settlement processes, and merchant-specific dispute resolution. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Merchant Terms, the Merchant Terms shall prevail for Merchant-specific matters.

17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes not resolved through ZamaSU's internal dispute process shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

18. Changes to These Terms

ZamaSU may update these Terms at any time. For material changes — including changes to platform fees affecting existing users — we will provide at least 30 days' written notice by email to your registered address or by in-platform notification before changes take effect.

Continued use of the platform after the notice period constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you must stop using the platform and may close your account before the effective date of the changes.
